NEW YORK, NY. -- Be careful what you post online ... hopefully you already know that what you post stays in cyberspace forever.

Now the government may be interested in what you post.

The New York Times reports social scientists want to collect web searches, Twitter messages, Facebook and blog posts, even information by cell phone to reveal sociological laws of human behavior.

Researchers think that will enable them to predict political crises, revolutions and other forms of social and economic instability, just as physicists and chemists can predict natural phenomena.
