QUINCY, IL -- Blessing Health System has added several new online tools to help make it easier to find health and wellness information, pay bills and connect with family and friends during a significant health challenge.
“With our website improvements and our new Facebook page, Blessing Health System is the region’s premiere health resource,” said Lisa Neisen, director of Public Relations and Communications for Blessing Hospital. “We’re excited to offer a variety of interactive tools that can help people identify their health risks and meet their wellness goals, get tips for healthy living, learn about a new diagnosis, procedure or medication, and much more.”

‘Be Well’ Section of Website Includes Health Library & Wellness Guide A “Be Well” section has been added to the Blessing Health System website, www.blessinghealthsystem.org, which links people to a collection of offerings to keep them well. One item is a Health Library & Wellness Guide, which is a comprehensive health information resource with medically substantiated health and wellness information.
The guide features more than 90,000 content items, including:
A-Z disease and condition encyclopedias for adults and children; Test and procedures database; Drug reference covering 33,000 drugs and drug interaction checker; Descriptions of 102 herbs, vitamins and supplements; A wellness library with 1,700 articles; Health centers for diabetes, heart disease, pregnancy and newborns, cancer, and women’s health; and Interactive tools including calculators, quizzes and risk assessments.

The multimedia content includes 84 newsletter podcasts, 112 test and procedure podcasts, 43 patient education videos, 20 medical animations and three interactive risk assessments.

Those who “like” the Facebook page also will receive wellness tips, healthy recipes, how-to fitness videos, cooking demonstrations, and links to health-related articles from reputable sources. “We want to engage our community with our Facebook page,” Neisen said. “We are posting content multiple times a day, and hope that our ‘fans’ join in on the conversation. We want the page to be interactive, and we want to hear people’s questions, comments – and even their own tips about how to stay healthy and active.”

Blessing Health System also plans to launch a YouTube channel.
