Train versus car collision in Montrose, Iowa

MONTROSE, IOWA -- Montrose Police Chief Karl Judd says a Montrose man was transported to the hospital after his car collided with a train Wednesday afternoon.

John Canida was crossing the tracks near Main Street in Montrose when he pulled out in front of a Burlington Northern train headed north. The train struck the vehicle on the passenger side. Upon arrival, the driver did not appear to have any life threatening injuries, though he was transported the hospital.

No citations were issued.
