Fire vehicle struck while on an emergency call

HANNIBAL, MO. -- There was a close call in Hannibal yesterday ... during a car accident involving a fire department vehicle.

According to the Hannibal Courier Post, Captain Tim Daugherty was driving the department's incident command vehicle to a fire alarm at General Mills, when a car carrying three women from Georgia women hit him.

This all happened near the intersection of U.S. 61 and Market Street.

The fire department vehicle's emergency lights and sirens were operating at the time of the accident.

Captain Daughtery was not hurt, the passengers in the car only had very minor injuries.
