The Hannibal community will gather Wednesday, October 26 to help stem the pandemic of domestic violence and its harmful effects on children. The meeting is free and open to the public.
It will take begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Partee Center on the HLGU campus.
Staff members from local agencies will speak on the various ongoing efforts to stop domestic violence. Survivors of domestic abuse will share their experiences.
In 2010 in Missouri, more than 51,000 adults, youth and children received services for domestic abuse. More that 27,000 requests for services were not met.
