QUINCY, ILL. -- Do you have old or unused medications in your medicine cabinet?

Saturday, the Quincy Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration collected hundreds of medications at the Quincy Mall.

The mall was one of four thousand locations across the U.S. taking part in the annual "Drug Take Back Day," which safely and anonymously disposes of medicines at no charge.

Events like this have collected more than 309 tons of pills. Safely disposing of your leftover medications helps keep pill abuse out of the community.
