Motorcyclist dies in multiple vehicle accident near Palmyra

MARION COUNTY, MO. -- A motorcycle versus deer collision resulted in a multiple car accident and fatality Sunday night.

The accident occurred along Highway 24, four miles south of Palmyra just before 7 p.m. Sunday. John Kinney, 33, of Paris, Missouri was riding northbound on his motorcycle when he struck a deer. The impact from the collision ejected Kinney from his seat. He landed in the roadway, where he was struck by two other vehicles.

Kinney was pronounced dead at  the scene just after 7 p.m. by Marion County Coroner Darrell McCoy. Kinney was taken to the Lewis Brothers Funeral Home in Palmyra where arrangements will be made.

This is the 29th fatality this year for the Missouri State Highway's Troop B.
