LOUISIANA, MO. -- This weekend marks the 12th anniversary of a tradition started to showcase the "working artist" that resides along a 50-mile stretch of highway in Northeast Missouri.

"50 Miles of Art" offers locals and tourists a chance to visit galleries and "working studios" from Hannibal to Clarksville. Visitors got the chance to get up-close with local artist as they worked with "pewter" and "glass" right in front of them.

Mary Brown owns "the Louisiana Purchase" gallery in Louisiana Missouri.

"You can come in and see all the different mediums they're using and how they produce the art, what it takes to run a studio and make the art," said Brown.

The "50 Miles of Art" tour continues through Sunday.
