MCDONOUGH COUNTY, ILL. -- A judge has sentenced a McDonough County homeless man to four years in prison after nearly stabbing a Macomb man to death back in April.

The McDonough Voice reports Robert Wilson pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated battery, including the beating of a McDonough County Jail cellmate.

Wilson was originally charged with attempted murder after stabbing 52-year-old Darwin Armentrout repeatedly in the body and neck area with a knife on April 17, 2011.

Wilson received credit for the 198 days he's already spent in the McDonough County Jail and must pay more than $1,000 in fines and fees.
