TRI-STATE AREA -- Much-needed rain has soaked a parched ground in the Tri-State region. The rain began Monday evening and continues into Tuesday evening and night. We have endured a severe drought since early summer, so this helps!
The most impressive rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches or more have been seen in southeastern Iowa and extreme, northeastern Missouri. Much lighter amounts of an inch or even less have been noted in places like Ralls County, Missouri and Pike County, Illinois.
Generally speaking, if you live in or north of Quincy, there’s a good chance that you’ve picked up 2 inches or more worth of rain.
