25-year-old Nicholas M. Mueller, of St. Louis, was arrested and placed on a 24 hour hold by the Troy Police Department following a police chase that reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour in a car stolen from a residence in Hannibal.

Tuesday morning, Hannibal Police Officers were called to the 400 block of South Highway 61 for a report of a stolen vehicle. The owner of the vehicle reported leaving his vehicle unattended while he went into a business.

A stolen Marion County vehicle ended up involved in a police chase Tuesday morning.

Police chased the vehicle from Troy, Mo. to St. Peters where they arrested a 25-year-old St. Louis man.

Troy Police Chief Jeff Taylor told STLToday.com that the Jeep Cherokee was reported stolen in Marion County and at about 9:40 a.m., a Troy police sergeant on traffic duty saw the car on Highway 61 and pursued it.

The chase reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour until the Jeep's driver reached eastbound I-70 in St. Charles County where spike strips were used to stop the vehicle between the Highway 370 and Cave Springs Boulevard exits.

No charges have been issued yet and the man's name has not been released.
