MONTROSE, IOWA -- A bicyclist is dead after being hit by a car Monday night.
Lee County Sheriff's Deputies say 26-year-old Adam Carter was driving south on Highway 61 when he struck the cyclist.
50-year-old Darlene L. Cooper was pronounced dead at Ft. Madison Community Hospital.
This is the second bicycle accident on the same stretch of Highway 61 in the last two weeks.
