Missouri Highway Patrol handles "unknown" motorized bike accident

CENTER, MO. -- A teenager was pinned underneath a truck after being hit on Route H in Center, Missouri Tuesday morning.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, 17-year-old Dennis Higgins of Center was riding an "unknown" type of motorized bicycle south on Route H  in Center at 6:30 a.m.

A  truck driven by 27-year-old Joshua Caldwell from Center, Mo. struck Higgins from behind. Both vehichles were travelling south on Route H. The truck ran over the motorized bicycle trapping Higgins under the truck.

Emergency responders from Ralls County responded to the accident. Eyewitness reports indicate the motorized bicycle might not have had working lights.

Higgins was transported to Blessing Hospital in Quincy by air evac with serious injuries.
