QUINCY, ILL. -- The Great River Ski Club has resurrected a long standing Quincy tradition.

A few brave souls strapped on some water skis before sitting down to turkey feasts this Thanksgiving.

This year, four guys and one girl took to the muddy Mississippi.

Skiers have been doing this almost every year for more than thirty years.

This year was a little warmer than most but the water was still pretty cold.

Skier Taylor Duncan says, "I've never done it before and Eric called me and said that we were redoing it again and I'd never done it so I thought I'd try it. And it was cold."

Duncan says he will probably do it again next year.
