TRI-STATE AREA -- It was an interesting view along the Ft. Madison riverfront Wednesday morning! Thick fog was in place and producing very low visibility.

This photo was taken on the riverbank near Riverview Park and is looking out over the river. You can see dense fog cutting the view so badly that visibility could be measured in mere feet!

The fog was fueled by the previous day’s rain that was able to cool and moisten the air near the comparatively warm ground and river water.

Temperature differences between land/water and air are already very common during this time of the year, and fog is quite often the result.
