QUINCY, ILL. -- A traffic accident occurred in the 600 block of North 8th just after 5 p.m. Thursday.
Officers arrived and found that a 1988 maroon Chevrolet, registered to Jennifer S. Ketcham, 48, of 2511 W. Valley View, had been traveling north on 8th and had crossed the southbound lane, jumped the curb, and struck a tree on the west side of the street. The vehicle appeared to be unoccupied.
Witnesses indicated that the driver had left the scene on foot. A search was conducted and officers found Ketcham in the area of 7th and College. She was found to have injuries to her head and was bleeding severely. Adams County EMS was summoned to the scene and Ketcham was transported to Blessing Hospital for treatment.
Ketcham was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage, and leaving the scene of a traffic accident.
