Hometown Credit Union robbed days before Christmas

QUINCY, ILL. -- An armed robbery took place at the Hometown Credit Union at 1420 Harrison in Quincy at approximately 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

The police are stopping people and questioning them, however, they do not have a suspect in custody at this time.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s wearing a grey and white hoodie with a ball cap underneath and may be approximately 5'7". He was carrying a plastic bag.

The suspect had something over his face during the robbery, had a hand gun and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash. Authorities told KHQA's Kristen Aguierre that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Use caution if you are in the area.

There are no reports of injuries.
