Hopefully, your presents are wrapped, and the tree filled with tinsel but could those decorations be harmful to your pet?
With so much going on this holiday season, the Quincy Humane Society wants to remind people to stay mindful of their animals.
That means watching what goes in their mouths.
Whether it be extra treats, table food or even holiday plants.
Eating anything out of your pet's normal diet could be bad for their health and safety.
"The holiday tree, I mean it can be very fascinating to both dogs and cats. They could pull it over, you know tugging on ornaments or climbing in it. If you have a live tree be mindful that the water could have fertilizer in it and if it's been there a couple days could have bacteria in it which could cause adverse side effects," said Sally Westerhoff.
Some of those side effects include vomiting and a change in behavior. If you think your pet has digested something poisonous contact your veterinarian immediately.
The national poison control hotline is 1-800-222-1222.
