Fight at the Phoenix leads to aggravated battery arrest

QUINCY, ILL. -- A Quincy man is charged with aggravted battery after allegedly assaulting an employee at the Pheonix night club in Quincy Saturday.

At 1:46 a.m., Quincy Police were dispatched to a fight in progress at the Phoenix located at 625 Maine. Upon arrival, officers learned that a patron inside the bar had been asked to leave after causing a distrubance with employees of the night club.  The patron then assaulted a staff member by punching him in the face. 

Police arrested Denzel R. Watts of Quincy for aggravated battery at the scene.  Watts was lodged in the Adam's County Jail pending an initial court appearance. 

The staff member suffered minor injuries and did not seek medical treatment.
