Number 10: Local teenager killed in car crash
LEWIS COUNTY, MO. -- 16-year-old Stephanie Troub of Durham died on January 10, 2011 when the car she was driving crossed the center line and hit a semi head on. The accident happened on Highway 6 about two and a half miles west of Lewistown. She was a Junior at Highland High School.
Number 9: Alleged attempted sexual assault involving QHS sports team
QUINCY, ILL. -- KHQA's Rajah Maples spoke with the father of the victim about how his son is doing. The father said his son was pushed to the brink of suicide because he was bullied and so he decided to speak out to the media about his son's case. We hid the father's identity in an effort to protect his son.
Number 8: Two teens killed in Monday night accident
HANCOCK COUNTY, ILL. -- The Illinois State Police reports that 18-year-old Kathlina N. Reinig and 16-year-old Gavin C. Roskamp were killed in a one-car accident the night of June 6, 2011 on County Rd. 1600 about 1/2 mile east of 1950th East. In all, five teenagers were in the vehicle at the time and all were wearing seatbelts. During interviews with surviving victims, they indicated they were traveling to an area where local kids attempt to "hill-hop" with their vehicles.
Number 7: Arrest over sex acts involving child, animal
MACON, MO. -- On Thursday, December 1, 2011, arrest warrants were issued by Macon County Prosecuting Attorney against Christina A. Spaid on the following counts: 1st Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Class C Felony; 2nd Degree Statutory Sodomy, Class C Felony; Use of a Child in Sexual Performance, Class C Felony; Unlawful Sex with an Animal, Class A Misdemeanor. Number 6: Manhunt underway in Adams County
KINGSTON, ILL. -- An active manhunt turned into a barricade situation in a Kingston home on June 29, 2011. The situation ended with the suspect dead and no answers as to why he stole an SUV from a Quincy park and lead police on a high speed chase east of Liberty.

NATIONAL STORY -- Horoscopes have been an intriguing part of world culture and history for centuries. There are definitely believers and skeptics alike here in the Tri-States. An astronomer says that a shift in the Earth's alignment has changed zodiac dates and added a 13th sign.

Number 4: Water rescue crews search for missing man on Mississippi River
QUINCY, ILL. -- Water search and rescue crews responded to the scene near Kesler Park where a boat collision occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011. Adams County EMS Chief Paul Davis told KHQA that two boats were involved, with a total of 5 people on board. Three people made it safely ashore, another person was "unofficially accounted for" and crews searched for the fifth person, 29-year-old John Flaiz, who has yet to be found.

Number 2: Mountain lion attacks Pike Co. hunter
BAYLIS, ILL. -- A 14-year-old hunter said he narrowly escaped an attack from a mountain lion on October 8, 2011. Jeremiah Dice was bow-hunting on his family's property in Baylis, Illinois in Pike County on a Saturday night when he says a mountain lion crossed his path. This story ended in a surprise twist, make sure you take a look.
And the Number 1 story in 2011: May 21st the end of the world? Or just another Saturday?
NATIONAL STORY -- You've probably heard of Nostradamus and even the Mayan calendar which have contradicting predictions on the end of the world. Forget about those predictions because there's a group foreseeing an apocalypse sooner ... much sooner actually. Family Radio Group waited for what they called Judgment Day on May 21, 2011 and put up billboards to warn people about the coming end.
