PIKE COUNTY, ILL. -- Contract negotiations seem to be at an impasse for the Pike County Illinois Ambulance Service.

That's according to county board chairman Andy Borrowman. The Local 965 union began representing Pike County's ambulance workers last year. Monday night the board met to discuss the issues not yet agreed upon.

"It's more on the hours of work and the little overtime, a situation with who gets to work overtime and who gets called first. It's not anything that's real sticky but it's something we haven't agreed on. We've been going back and forth on ideas and we just need to get it finalized, something both sides will agree to," said Borrowman.

The year-long stalemate has led to the hiring of chief mediator Walker Filbert. He's in the process of scheduling a time all sides can meet for further negotiations.
