QUINCY, ILL. -- An old gym opened new doors in Quincy Saturday.

Midwest Iron Gym is now located below the Washington Theater on Hampshire Street. It first opened in 1997 and has typically been a garage gym.

Many of the members include professional power lifters and amateur body builders. Owner Michael Moore says his new space can give something to it's members that other gyms can't.

"Basically, what this is going to allow us to do is kind of showcase what we do to every body. It doesn't matter what body weight you are: lean, big, age wise. I mean, you can get a good work out at any other gym in this town but you'll get results here. That's the biggest difference," said Moore.

Midwest Iron is open twenty four hours, seven days a week. Despite many of it's members being competitive weight lifters, Moore says anyone is welcomed to join.

This gym is the second business to take up space inside the theater which continues to receive renovations for other future businesses.
