QPD reports most dangerous intersections of 2011

The newest reports regarding Quincy traffic crashes is out, and once again, 36th Street and Broadway proved to be the city's most hazardous intersection in 2011. This intersection was responsible for 45 traffic accidents.

36th and Maine and 30th and Broadway each witnessed 21 crashes.

Overall, Quincy police officers responded to a total of 12 hundred 24 traffic crashes last year which was 45 fewer than in 2010.

Accidents were blamed for 160 injuries, down from 190 in 20-10, but only one person died in a traffic crash last year.

More accidents occurred on Friday than any other day of the week and 82 percent of the accidents happened during the daylight hours.

Last year, Quincy police issued a total of 699 speeding tickets and 316 seat belt violation tickets. DUI arrests were down to126 and Quincy recorded a 91.9 percent seat belt usage rate.
