QUINCY, ILL. -- You can fight rust problems all year long with a little powder and electricity.

The process called powder coating uses electricity to fuse powder to metal surfaces like this A-T-V frame.

Then the items are baked at four hundred degrees.

The result is a shiny coating with a longer lasting finish.

Owner Mike Ray says it's popular for people looking to protect their lawn furniture or anything prone to rust.

Ray said, "It's a baked on finish, so it actually goes into the crevices that spray paint wouldn't get into."
