Bond headed to March ballot
Wednesday night the Quincy school board banned any group who wants to discus the upcoming working cash bond issue from coming onto school property.
QUINCY, ILL. --
WTAD reports that the move comes as several groups have contacted Superintendent Lonny Lemon to discuss the issue.
The $6.2 million bond will be placed on the March ballot.
The majority of the school board agreed with the advice of the district's legal counsel that school administration, faculty and board members are not allowed to speak for or against the measure while they are officially representing the school district.
The working cash bond issue was filed last week with the Adams County Clerk to get it on the ballot in time.
