Sinkhole causes detour around Quincy street

QUINCY, ILL. -- A portion of Vermont Street between 6th and 7th streets will remain closed to traffic until 5 p.m. Friday.

The street is being closed to allow for repair of a sinkhole and a failed sanitary sewer line.

Motorists are asked to drive carefully near the construction work zone and to use an alternative driving route.
