It's the first of the year, who hasn't made a resolution to lose weight?

Losing weight can be hard work. And keeping the pounds off can be even more difficult.

USA Today reports the National Weight Control Registry has found a few secrets to successfully keeping the weight off.

The organization is made up of about 10,000 people who have lost 30 or more pounds and kept it off for at least a year.

They are doing so by counting calories, eating breakfast, limiting dining out, eating similar foods often, watching less television and weighing in once a week.

Here's that full article.

USA Today reports the registry looked at three-thousand participants who shed an average of 69 pounds and kept most of it off.
