A Fort Madison couple was arrested Thursday on charges connected with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Richard John Schipper, 32, and Amelia Mae McCollum, 27, of the 1500 block of Avenue M are charged with a felony count of conspiracy to manufacture more than five grams of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor count of maintaining a drug house.

Each faces up to 27 years in state prison if convicted.
