Weather blamed in fatal Clarksville, Mo. crash

Monday’s winter storm has led to at least one fatal crash in the area.

Amanda Moon, 44, of Clarksville, Mo. was killed when her northbound vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle driven by Tricia Sliger, 30, of Foley.

The crash happened about 8 a.m. on State Highway 79 north of Old Monroe in Lincoln County. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to investigators.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reported Sliger’s vehicle slid on the snow into the path of Moon’s vehicle. Sliger had minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy.

Moon was the owner of Sunfire Pottery at 105 S. First in Clarksville. Her son works for the city.
