QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy School District Superintendent Lonny Lemon is one of five finalists for the same position at the Moline School District.

Quad-Cities Online is reporting that Lemon was revealed Tuesday as one of the finalists. He will be interviewed sometime this week.

"It's an opportunity for me professionally. Quincy is a good community, but I grew up 15 miles from Quad Cities in Aledo and my mom and dad still live there. I wanted to throw my hat into the ring and see what happened. I'm one of five people who are vying for the job," said Lemon.

Each candidate will undergo a day-long series of interviews with administrators, members of the community and business leaders. They also tour the district facilities and join school board members for dinner before taking part in the formal job interview.

The Moline School District is about the same size as the Quincy Public School District, with Moline having about 100 more students in overall district enrollment.
