HANNIBAL, MO. -- Hannibal's American Idol contestant has returned home to Missouri.
Jared Keim was recently cut from the competition during Hollywood week.
His last day was during the group round portion of the show.
Keim's group performance wasn't shown on air but he was cut shortly after. But despite being sent home this process has taught him a lot about himself.
"It's really just showed me that I'm capable of more than I had held myself back to," said Keim. "I kind of put boundaries up of 'okay this is what I can do, this is what I can't do, I can't make it on American Idol, I can't do that.'"
"And so it's just really opened my eyes to taking every opportunity," said Keim.
Jared hasn't decided whether or not he will try out for American Idol's next season, but he does plan to pursue music in the future.
