HANNIBAL, MO -- Tonight the Hannibal City Council rejected the low bid from Cannon Excavation Company out of Troy for the Stardust expansion project.
WTAD reports that the contract went to Bleigh Construction instead.
Representatives from Bleigh pointed out that 78 percent of the total amount of resources and money it spent would benefit the local economy.
There was a $10,800 difference between the two offers.
The city also gave first reading to ordinance that would add points to the licenses of people who get tickets through the city's red light cams.
