QUINCY, ILL. -- It was Bridal Extravaganza at the Oakley Lindsey Center today.

But bride's weren't the only people benefiting from the event.

"I would recommend everyone to come and participate it just really draws a lot of business," said Carol Shaffer.

Carol Shaffer ownsI Do Bridal in Quincy and has been attending Bridal Extravaganza for the last two years.
She sponsored a fashion show for the event, helping brides get a feel for what kind of dress they may like...and can find at her store

"Girls are so excited, they come in the next day, there's probably tons of girls down there now," she said.

This event may be sponsored for brides to be, but local businesses are benefiting too.

"Contact the people that we talked to today we have some good ideas and repoire with and just expand our business," said Karen Wellman, owner of Wellman Florist. "It's a very good opportunity for us to get out there," she said.

And the day also offers a more personal experience between vendors and brides.

"It's a good one on one," said Wellman. "A lot of people, you get to talk to people a little bit more closely so it's good, good for your business," she said.

"They get to come out and touch the things see some bouquets made, cakes made up, taste our catering," said Denise Dedert, a County Market employee.
"Yes, we think it's a wonderful opportunity for them to see what's available out there from us."

Still, you can't forget who the big day is really all about.

"Lot's of great vendors, lots of great ideas on dresses, cakes, food, I would definitely come," said Carrie Schmidit, a bride to be.
