QUINCY, IL -- Talent mixed with show tunes to fill the halls of Quincy High School Saturday.
The 20th Showcase of Excellence featured show choirs and jazz bands from all over the Midwest.
Some performers have been practicing their act since summer.
The day also included improvisation acts and fashions shows.
This year marked the 20th anniversary for the Showcase of Excellence, a milestone that Dan Sherman with the QHS Choral department attributes to, "...the support we have, the families and all the friends of the performing arts supporting our program and the community. We hope we have another 20."
The day gives students the opportunity to show off their hard word and passion for the fine arts while supporting the fine arts departments in kindergarten through 12th grades at Quincy Public Schools.
"It raises money, which is very important nowadays, to have money for our fire arts programs," said Sherman.
Some familiar faces on the stage today were KHQA's Carol Sowers, Rajah Maples, Stephen Johnson, Nora Balder, Tegan Orpet, and Jim Whitfield, who served as emcees.
