A record breaking number of almost three-hundred people gathered at Kelly's Tavern in Quincy to participate in a thirty year tradition.

The annual Kelly's run is a kick off to St. Patrick's Day celebrations and a way to give back to the community.

For the past three years proceeds from the race have been donated to the Young Women's Christian Association.

This year was no different, and organizers from the YWCA couldn't be more thankful for the runners...and the weather.

"It's phenomenal because you always worry about a race and we were blessed with great weather today so were excited about that," said Mary Muehlenfeld, executive director of the YWCA. "But it makes us feel good because people are starting to know who we are and what we do and that we really are making a difference in the community," she said. "So they came out to show us that they believe in us and we appreciate that."

Other sponsors for the race include Rinella Company, Mercantile Bank and Wright Furniture and Flooring.
