QUINCY, ILL. -- The new iPad was released Friday in the U.S.
There were lines all around the country for people wanting to snag the latest in technology, but no one in line at the AT&T store in Quincy.
The new iPad looks the same as the iPad 2, but inside it's much different.
It has a faster processor, a new retina display for the screen, and a five-megapixel camera.
"What that's going to allow you to do is give you a 1080p video recording and Hi-Def pictures," Assistant Store Manager, Shawn McNett said. "What that retina display is it actually has the same resolution that's a little better than Blu Ray, so you're going to get a Hi-Def quality screen on this new one."
The new iPad runs on AT&T's new 4G compatible network, which gives you a ten times faster download than a 3G model. iPad service is also available through Verizon Wireless.
And if you want an iPad, but don't care about the upgrades, the price of an iPad 2 was slashed a 100 dollars today.
