QUINCY, ILL. -- The Quincy Convention and Visitors Bureau has won a first place award for their architectural driving tour and marketing campaign during the 2012 Illinois Governor's Conference on Tourism.
The convention was held in Rosemont, Illinois and the Quincy CVB competed against about 400 other tourism entities across the state.
The Drive the Tour Summer Campaign features about 15 stops in and around Quincy of architectural treasures.
Most of them are located in the historic district.
"And this tour that we developed is good for about an hour you can do it in about an hour. It's 15 great sites architects are featured, but it's for any visitor. It's not just for your architects and historians. It's rally for that leisure visitor that wants to come in and experience Quincy," Quincy Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Holly Cain said.
