QUINCY, ILL. -- First Lady Michelle Obama inspires kids all over the country to get more active though her Let's Move! campaign.

One student at St. Peter School is taking that message to her fellow classmates.

Mackenzie Mahsman created Nutrition Day for her school.

During Nutrition Day, students learned all about healthy eating and exercising.

Mahsman says, "It's not just about exercising, it's about a healthy lifestyle of eating nutritional choices and exercising. So, today, we are adding an extra 30 minutes of physical activity to reach the Lets Move Campaign by the First Lady Michelle Obama to reach 60 minutes of physical activity per day."

Mackenzie is competing in Miss Quincy Outstanding Teen. This project is her platform.

If she wins, she will promote Nutrition Day throughout her year.
