Warm temperatures this month broke records in the Midwest, but experts warn farmers and gardeners to be cautious about planting early.

The Midwestern Regional Climate Center says the possibility of a freeze in April remains high.

Experts admit it's a guessing game to predict the date of the last spring freeze.

There's still a possibility for a 32-degree freeze or even a 28-degree "hard" freeze, which could kill plants.

If your green thumb can't wait, you could consider starting plants in pots that can be easily moved indoors should temperatures drop.
