Project could add hundreds of jobs in Tri-States

A Canadian oil company announced Monday that it will proceed with a $2.8 million pipeline project expected to add hundreds of jobs in the Tri-State area.
Enbridge announced that the construction of the Flanagan South pipeline that would carry crude oil between Flanagan, Ill. and Cushing, Okla.
The company's Web site says that the project would complete a larger pipeline that runs between Alberta, Canada and the Gulf of Mexico.
The 36-inch diameter line will add an initial capacity of 585,000 barrels per day.
The line will pass through Macon, Shelby, Marion and Lewis counties in Missouri and Adams, Brown and Schuyler counties in Illinois.
Many of the jobs are expected to be in the form of construction positions. The company says that construction is expected to begin in mid-2013.
Unlike the controversial Keystone Project, Enbridge's plan would not require the Obama Administration approval since the project doesn't cross international borders.
