QUINCY, ILL. -- Every hour of everyday, someone dies of melanoma in the United States. Saturday, more than 350 people walked to fight that cancer statistic.

The third annual Aim for a Cure Miles for Melanoma walk was held at South Park in Quincy. It was one of the city's largest turn outs for a cause.

All proceeds from the walk go to fund melanoma research.

"Melanoma is the fastest growing cancer in the United States and worldwide," said Jean Schlipmann, the co-founder of Aim at Melanoma. "It's the only cancer where the number of deaths is increasing but the number of people being screened remains flat. People think melanoma can be removed and you'll be fine, but it's a killer."

Aim is the largest Melanoma foundation and holds Aim for a Cure Walks all over the nation. Its next Illinois walk is scheduled May 5, in Bloomington/Normal.
