QUINCY, ILL. -- A Quincy Junior High School student was charged in connection to a threatening note found in a girl's restroom after school on Tuesday.

Lt. Jason Simmons of the Quincy Police Department said that the student was charged Friday with a class four felony disorderly conduct. The student, whose name is being withheld because he is a juvenile, faces probation or a possible time in the Adams County juvenile detention center if convicted of the charge.

The student was arrested Thursday night.

The possible penalty in this incident would be at the discretion of the presiding judge and its severity would depend on the defendant's previous record.

In a press release statement Thursday, Quincy schools Superintendent Lonny Lemon thanked the parent and junior high student who provided information that led to the arrest.

The culprits of numerous threats in the district over the past several months have not been identified.

The school district is asking anyone with information to contact schools officials or the QPD.

There is a reward for information leading to a conviction.
