QUINCY, ILL. -- One of the founders of Farm and Home Supply has died.

86-year-old Karl Bowles died Monday in Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Bowles and Floyd Baker were the co-founders of the Quincy-based chain, which began doing business in 1960.

KHQA spoke with Bowles' son.

"You know he was still very involved with the decision making pretty much right till the end," said Adam Bowles. "He was the chairman of the board up until his passing so."

Farm and Home now has eight stores in Illinois, Missouri and Iowa.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
