HANNIBAL, MO. -- A motorcyclist received serious injuries during a Saturday crash at the intersection of MO 79 and Grand Avenue.

The crash involved a 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 36-year-old Lawrence Leerhoff, of Hannibal. The other vehicle involved was a 2007 Honda, driven by 20-year-old Skye Begley, of Hannibal.

Leerhoff and witnesses reported the Honda had its turn signal on as it approached the intersection of MO 79 and Grand Avenue. As Leerhoff began to cross the intersection, the Honda continued south on MO 79 and struck Leerhoff and his motorcycle.

Leerhoff was transported from the scene by Marion County Ambulance with injuries and taken to the Hannibal Regional Hospital. He was later airlifted to another facility due to the seriousness of his injuries.
