QUINCY, ILL. -- At the end of the school year, kids are ready to get outside and away from the text books ... but that doesn't mean the learning ends when the fun begins.

Hundreds of students from six Catholic schools met in Quincy Wednesday for the annual Olympic day.

The competitors are from fifth through eighth grades. Each student gets to choose one track event, one field event and one team event.

The goal is not so much to win, but to work together in a spirit of fellowship, sportsmanship and Christian attitude. Each child had to sign a code of conduct promising to respect the rules, the adults, and each other.

Students from Quincy Notre Dame staffed and judged each event.
