MOUNT STERLING, ILL. -- An Puerto Rican fugitive was arrested in Timewell Saturday after a traffic stop.

Mount Sterling police officer Justin Ebbing stopped a car for having a loud exhaust system about 7:20 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 24 near Union Hall.

The driver identified himself as Dennis Garcia Alejandro of Beardstown and had a valid Illinois driver's license.

The man was later identified as Sixto Quinoze Calderon.

Ebbing learned there was a possible warrant for the driver's arrest out of Puerto Rico under an alias.

The man was later arrested at his employer, Timewell Tile. Ebbing was assisted by officers from the Brown County Sheriff's Department and the Illinois State Police. Puerto Rican officials said they would extradite Calderon on charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a child.

Calderon is lodged in the Schuyler County Jail pending extradition.
