Mother's Day is fast approaching and you may still be searching for the right gift for that special mother in your life.

You may have noticed advertisements and sales on certain items that are not normally "tagged" as the traditional Mother's Day gifts.

With technology falling into the hands of women worldwide, many people are opting for high-tech gifts this year.

One reason for this is moms are normally extremely busy people, wearing many hats and always on the go. So one way that moms can stay connected to their families and the world around them is to use smart phones and other high-tech gadgets. This is what has prompted an increase in smart phone and tablet purchases for Mother's Day.

"It used to be Mother's Day was flowers and out to lunch with the family. But anymore we all concentrate on how we can make our days more effective." Brenda Sprague, Retail Sales Consultant said. "One of the ways that we can make our days more effective is to get a smart phone and stay in touch with just one device."

Brenda has also noticed a large amount of her customer base switching from the traditional cell phones to the smart phone. Nearly seventy percent are making the technology transition to these all-inclusive gadgets.

They are not only handy for moms, but kids get both education and entertainment perks from using the devices.  Many smart phones offer educational apps that are child friendly and promote learning.  There is even a new water-proof tablet on the market that can be used around water.
