MACOMB, ILL. -- Macomb High School students got a visit from Washington Friday.

Congressman Aaron Shock spoke to students at an all school assembly.

He told students how he got involved with public service and his experience running for office. He also encouraged students to get involved with their community at a young age, just as he did.

"Whether they want to run for office or not they can give back through their churches, through their neighborhood associations, through non profits," Congressman Schock said. "You're never too young to start giving back to your community."

The Macomb visit was part of Congressman Schock's tour to get to know the newest part of his district.

The new congressional seat for Illinois will include Macomb, Bushnell and all of Adams County.
