BLANDINSVILLE, ILL. -- A controversial large-scale hog farm in McDonough County has the green light to begin construction.

According to the McDonough County Voice, the Illinois Department of Agriculture has approved plans for South Morgan Acres. The confinement would house 3500 hogs north of Blandinsville, just south of the Henderson County line.

The county board approved the facility in January, but it was put on hold until now because the state requested more information.
