Douglas Howery, 59, is accused of killing his wife and hiding her body on their rural Pike County, Mo. farm.

A Pike County, Mo. man charged in the 20-year-old cold-case murder of his wife was in an Audrain County court Monday.

Douglas Howery, 59, is accused of killing his wife and hiding her body on their rural Pike County, Mo. farm.

Betty Howery was last seen alive in February of 1992.

Her whereabouts were unknown until 4-years-ago when investigators found what they thought were her remains on the couple's farm.

Howery was arrested in 2009. The case was later moved to Audrain County on a change of venue.

Howery could get either life in prison or the death penalty if convicted.
